Jeremy has done an incredible job over the last decade of keeping my family and I protected and covered. He has helped me immensely with my father's coverage as we moved him into full retirement, and throughout the years of handling his changing medical needs. He goes over and beyond every time. I would recommend him and his team to anyone.
Q&A with Logan Mocherman
What's a common trick in Medicare marketing that hides restrictions on doctor choices?
Answer: The only things that comes to mind would be withholding certain information when presenting the plans to you. Or being vague and misleading by just assuming your doctors will be in the network they're talking about without just searching for each doctor and confirming each one. This is why it's best to have an agent you can meet with face to face and get in contact whenever you need to. They will take the time to check all your doctors and specialists.
Does Medicare Advantage cover acupuncture or alternative therapies in some plans?
Answer: Some advantage plans do have coverage for acupuncture, as long it is specifically for treating chronic low back pain. Most likely the alternative therapies would not be.
What advice would you give to seniors who are feeling overwhelmed by all the Medicare options available?
Answer: My advice for the overwhelmed would be simply to call a local medicare agent that you can trust. If you don't already know of one, a friend or family member on medicare is likely to know one they have used for a while and really like. They will be able to show you the differences and the pros and cons of all your options. Someone you are able to meet in person is probably best as there are what we call "phonebanks" filled with bad actors who do not have your best interest in mind.
I just got Medicare Part A, and I'm worried about hospital stays. How do I know if my overnight stay will be covered fully?
Answer: As long as your doctor is having you admitted as an "inpatient" and not "outpatient", you will be covered for the first 60 days, but you will have to pay the part A deductible which is $1,676 for 2025. The part A deductible is not an annual deductible: You pay it for each benefit period, not every year.
What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?
Answer: You should work with a medicare agent because they will be able to compare your available options and explain it in a way that actually makes sense to you and apply to your situation. They can explain the difference between a supplement and an advantage plan. An agent will have access to all carriers and therefore will not have any personal bias toward one carrier or another ensuring you get the plan that fits best for YOU. A local agent that can meet with you face to face is best, so the agent can actually get to know you and your situation and you'll be able to contact them when you have a question about your coverage. A good agent will then review plan changes with you every year as well.
