I signed up for a Medicare Advantage HMO, and I'm wondering if I can see a cardiologist out of network without paying everything myself.
Answer: It is always best practice to refer to your plan's Evidence of Coverage. If your plan has POS feature or Point of Service, you may be able to receive some services out-of-network but for a higher cost share. In general regarding HMO, you will need to stay in the plan's network for your item, test, service to be covered. If you go out-of-network, then you will be responsible for all costs.
