Q&A with Kristine Gurley
What are some ways to save on prescription drug costs?
Answer: You can save money on prescriptions by using the mail order option instead of the local pharmacy option. Most drug plans have preferred local pharmacies and that can provide savings. Also, generic mediations if they are approved by your physicians can reduce prescription costs.

I just got a $300 bill for an ambulance ride I thought was covered. Am I the only one who didn't know Medicare doesn't pay for all emergency transport?
Answer: On Original Medicare you have a 20% co-insurance for all Part B medical cost including Emergency Transportation. Medicare only covers 80% leaving you the Medicare Beneficiary with the remaining 20%.
I'm on a supplemental Plan N, and I'm curious if my recent MRI is covered or if I'll get stuck with a big bill.
Answer: Plan N with covers 100% for the Medically Necessary approved MRI, Medicare pays the 80% and Plan N pays the 20%.
Why do some clients ignore your advice and end up in bad Medicare plans-what makes them resistant?
Answer: Due to the Medicare beneficiary answered a phone call from a Call Center speaks to an agent on the line not even from the state or county nor city as they proclaim, Agent proceeds to convince the Senior that they can get them more this and that, never look up providers nor medications do not know the network for the plan they are insisting they go onto. Never having the Senior Medical or Pharmaceutical interests.
The importance of using your LOCAL Trusted Health Advisor that has studied each plan along with networks, list of medications that work to find the coverage that meets YOUR NEEDS!
So I heard something about Medicare drug costs being capped at $2,000 in 2025. Is that really happening or just talk?
Answer: Due to the new law IRA (Inflation Reduction Act) the Initial coverage for 2025 will be capped at $2,000 after the Member pays out the $2,000 in drug cost, the remainder of the year the member will have a $0 co-pay for their prescriptions.
I am on ssi Disability. I turn 65 in June. I also just got Humana health. So does it be change to SSI?? Or does my SSI -Disabiliy just go on til death.
Answer: Yes, your SSI-D will change to Retirement SSI when one turns 65 years of age. Even though you are on a Humana plan under SSI-D you get a secondary Initial Enrollment Period to re-evaluate your plan options and make change if needed. This is a good time to look at all your options.
