Kathy Greco, Medicare Insurance Agent
About Me
As a nurse for my entire career, my mission has always been to help people. As I transitioned to becoming a licensed Medicare Agent, that continues to be my goal. As a broker I can offer people education and choices that are appropriate for them, therefore I work for my clients, and not the companies I represent. Ensuring your plan fits your needs is my ultimate goal. Call me for a free consultation.
Q&A with Kathy Greco
What is the biggest disadvantage of Medicare Advantage?
Answer: Having a network is one of the biggest disadvantages of a Medicare Advantage Plan as it confines you to who you can see and not see if you want to insurance to cover the expense. PPOs offer a little more flexibility than HMOs although the physician still has to agree to take you out of network. Some physicians do not take you out of network. Thats why it's important to ensure your physicians are in your network or will take you out of network when looking for a plan.
How does Medigap Plan K compare to Plan G for someone on a tight budget?
Answer: The Medicare K plan would have a lower premium but you could potentially spend up to $8000 in health care co-pays and co-insurance, in addition to that. With the G plan, your premium is higher but you are covered 100% after the $283 annual deductible.
How can I select the right healthcare company and representative to work with?
Answer: Its best to work with a broker who represents most of the plans and companies in your area. Because not all doctors take all plans, and medication costs can vary from plan to plan, the agent will look at your specific doctors and the medications you would like covered, to provide a narrowed down list of plans for you to review and choose from.
Can I show my Original Medicare Card instead of my Medicare Advantage card, if my provider doesn't take my advantage insurance?
Answer: When you are enrolled in an advantage plan, that is your primary insurance. You cannot use your Medicare card for payment through original Medicare. The options would be to either pay what the office charges or find someone else in the network.
