About Me

For 20 years, Karen has been a successful Wealth Management leader, providing personalized investment advice to clients. After graduating from Brown University with degrees in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Psychology, Karen began her finance career providing tailored investment advice for Smith Barney. After nearly a decade with the company, Karen went off on her own and launched Universal Wealth Management, LLC. Karen successfully provides personal, family, business, estate, healthcare, and career financial advice and management to more than 500 households and manages in excess of $250 million in assets. Additionally, Karen is a registered representative with Osaic Wealth, Inc., a prominent independent, full-service broker-dealer.

Karen has a proven track record for providing sound financial guidance to her clients through many major life transitions in areas including Social Security, understanding the complexities of all aspects of Medicare (Individuals and Businesses), Prescription Drug Coverage, and Individual and Group Health Care Plans. She recently authored “Medicare Untangled.” The book, which will be published in spring 2019, simplifies the complex world of Social Security and Medicare.

Karen’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. In 2017, she was honored as one of the top businesswomen in Rhode Island by Providence Business News. Her drive as a businesswoman stems from her competitive nature as a former standout athlete. A rare two-sport student-athlete at Boston College and Brown University, Karen excelled in both women’s hockey and softball. As a senior at Brown, Karen had the unique distinction of winning both ECAC and Ivy League titles in hockey (22-0-0 ECAC and 10-0-0 in Ivy) and capturing the Ivy League Softball Championship. She also was a member of the United States Olympic Hockey Development Program.
