Q&A with John Hose
Answer:
Switching from a Medicare Supplement to a Medicare Advantage Plan is only available during the Annual Enrollment Period, which ends at midnighton December 7th.
You should speak to an advisor who will confirm that your doctors are in the network and that cover your prescriptions.
If you need help and advice, please contact me.
Thanks,
John M. Hose
Answer:
Good question.
You should have your wife check with the HR department and ask if you, as a dependent, can continue the coverage without purchasing Part B of Medicare. If so, you can avoid starting Part B and any penalty until she retires, at which time you would have a 63-day period to stare Part B.
I recommend that when it gets close to when her group benefits will expire, i.e. her retirement date is set, go to SSA.gov and set up a "My Account" where you can apply for the Part B coverage and select a date that begins when her group coverage ends.
For more information, you can contact me.
Hope this helps.

Answer:
Should you choose a Medicare Advantage Plan, you can change to a Medicare Supplement plan during the first 12 months from the time that you originally purchased the MA plan. Also, if you move from the service area, i.e., out of state, or the plan terminates your plan for the next calendar year, you can go to a Medicare Supplement plan with Guaranteed Enrollment.

Answer: The premium is based on your taxable income from 2 years prior. When your income declines the premium will be reduced. You should consider talking with your planner, if you have one, who may be able to provide advice on how to bring your taxable income down.
Answer: Helping people solve their questions and providing on going service for their senior insurance needs.
Answer:
When I do an educational seminar on Medicare, I keep it to basics and ask the attendees to complete a response sheet, which, if they desire, they can request an appointment for individual needs. If the attendee doesn’t request an appointment, I never call or email them. I hate the timeshare experience as well.
If you need answers to your questions, please contact me.
Thanks

Answer:
There are different types of Medicare plans with different pricing. In some areas, Medicare Advantage plans have no premiums and have copayments for certain services. The Medigap plans are priced higher but they typically pay for all covered benefits after an annual deductible is met.
It’s a good, responsible thing to periodically check to see if you may be able to save money by shopping.
I would be happy to help you find the plan that will make you feel comfortable.
Please contact me for more information.

Answer:
Life insurance is a unique product that can be very helpful in retirement planning. If you have a plan that has a large cash value, you can get funds tax-free to maintain a predictable income. If you have a large estate, it can be a great way to transfer wealth.
The primary benefit is, of course, to provide a good way to eliminate debts and enhance the financial stability for your family in the event of an unexpected death.
