Q&A with Jo Gallo

Answer: Medicare will pay if you take a supplement, pay your deductible, and the pacemaker will be covered. Medications are under Part D unless you take an Advantage plan. Contact me- I will educate you - Jo Gallo

Answer: Original Medicare with or without a supplement will cover everything your doctor says is medically necessary - so it is up to your doctor if you need treatment.

Answer: It depends on the type of Medicare you have. Please contact me and I will explain - Jo Gallo.

Answer: Only an act of Congress can change what Medicare covers. Please write your Congressperson. Thank you.

Answer: Well there are considerations - do they work? Do they have work insurance? If so - only Part A - if you would like to contact me. - I can explain - Jo Gallo.

Answer: I have not heard of any Advantage plans offering “extra” services for cancer. I suggest calling the Member Services phone number for your plan and asking.

Advantage plans usually do not cover the 20% of chemo and for some, no 20% coverage for radiation. Please see your maximum out of pocket for the year to understand what your costs will total.

Once you hit the maximum out of pocket for the year, you will not pay any additional fees over the amount.

The maximum out of pocket will reset next year. Good luck to you.

Answer: Just because the product advises it is a PPO, does not mean you will pay less out of network. Regarding all MAPD Plans - staying in network is the only way to save money. If you would like to look at a different plan, please feel free to contact and I will help you! - Jo Gallo

Answer: If the cardiologist is not in network, you will pay. Please also remember that most HMOs require a referral to a specialist. If you want some help getting into a plan that is a no-cost PPO, please feel free to contact me. - Set an appointment, and I will help you.

Answer: Contact me - I will set up a Zoom call, and we can all talk to your parents about Medicare. Remember, asking an expert will take all of the guesswork out of coverage, carriers, drug coverage, and most importantly, these days

Answer: You can change a supplement plan any time or month - no rules on the date. However, you will need to answer medical questions - so my advice is to change every year or two - when the price goes up until you can no longer answer the medical questions.

Answer: Yes - disability automatically turns into Sicial Security when you turn 65. What is most important is that you get a brand new enrollment period for Medicare - meaning if you are on an expensive Plan C or Plan D you can switch to a Plan G or a Plan N with no medical questions. Let me know if you would like some health.

Answer: MOOP relates to the amount of money you pay out while you are on a healthcare plan such as an Advantage Plan. Once you have met your MOOP, all your healthcare costs are covered 100% by the plan.

Answer: When on Medicare - generics are the way to go. They can also join PAAD if they are in NJ. You can use Medicare.gov to check on plans.

Answer: Yes, you should contact a Broker who will do it for you - this will ensure you get what you want and you understand what you get.

Answer: The simple answer is no. The fact that the current Administration is ending ing SNAP Benefits is heart wrenching. My suggestion to all Seniors is find a local food bank and be sure you sign up if it is required. If you need help call your local senior services or SHIP office.

Answer: Advantage Plans are not a “trap”. They are an alternative to original Medicare. However, they do require participants to spend a certain amount of money before they cover at 100%. For folks that do not want to pay monthly or folks who cannot afford Original Medicare, they are a good alternative. Think of an Advantage Plan asa pay as you use it plan. Please feel free to contact me - Advantage Plans need to meet your needs - you cannot just “pick one”. Jo Gallo - Please contact me.

Answer: First make sure they get educated. If there is a translation issue, please be available to help explain Medicare via your Broker. My name is Jo Gallo - I fully educate so we feel confident in our decisions. There are reasons to learn all about Medicare prior to joining - such as picking a plan that does not cover what you need. Please feel free to contact me- I will elaborate.
