Will my Medicare plan work when traveling to Europe?
Answer: You should always get a travel plan. If you have an incident bring your bill back and your Insurance will reimburse you even though the Travel plan paid already.
Why not just call the insurance carrier directly?
Answer: When problems come up and they always do it is much better to have an agent to contact. Dealing with 800 numbers gets more and more difficult especially since medical offices are making more and more errors in their billing.
I'm retiring next year - do I need to do anything with my Medicare?
Answer: Yes, you need to apply for Part B as early as 3 months before your birthday month. Go to social security.gov and apply and once Part B is in place shop for a plan that fits you!
Why do doctors not like Medicare Advantage plans?
Answer: Doctors encounter problems with customers because customers are not instructed on the ins and outs of how to use their plans. For example an overnight hospital stay can be $300. in network but the customer has to pay 40% out of network on some plans.
Should I review my ANOC with my Medicare agent?
Answer: Yes there are always changes every year with all of the Insurance Companies!!!!! You don’t want any surprises that are not good surprises.
Why do so many seniors wait until the last minute to enroll in Medicare, and how can agents help prevent bad decisions?
Answer: The best idea is to work with an agent who represents several companies. That way you can be matched with a company that fits you and your doctors and prescriptions!!!!!!! As for waiting until the last minute it is most likely human nature but it makes the process very tense sometimes!!!!!!!!
