Jamie Hindley, Medicare Insurance Broker

About Me

Tired of 1-800 Numbers? I am Your Lake Havasu Medicare Advocate.

If you’re looking for a giant call center with automated hold music, I’m probably not the agent for you. But if you want a neighbor who knows the difference between an HMO and a PPO—and knows that College Street has the best consistent Brewery food in town—we should talk.

I’ve lived in Lake Havasu City for 9 years. I don’t just "sell" plans; I advocate for my neighbors. Whether we’re meeting to discuss your first step into Medicare or reviewing your current coverage, my goal is to ensure you never pay for more than you need.

Medicare shouldn't feel like a second job. Yet, every year, the junk mail piles up, the phone rings with "scam" calls, and the fine print gets smaller. That is where I come in...

Why call me?

~The Local Advantage: I understand the Mohave County healthcare landscape. I know which networks are expanding and which ones are shrinking, helping you avoid costly mistakes.

~We are Independent: We represent dozens of top carriers, not just one.

~$0 Cost to You: Our guidance and enrollment services are always free.

~Zero Pressure: Just clear, human explanations so you can make a confident decision.

I am here to help.

Q&A with Jamie Hindley

Can I keep seeing my current doctors if I switch to a Medicare Advantage plan, or do I have to find new ones?

Answer: You can keep seeing your current doctors if they are contracted with your new Advantage Plan. If it is an HMO, they have to be in-network with the new plan. If it is a PPO, I recommend you find a plan that they are contracted with so that you don't have to pay more out-of-pocket than necessary. Yes, you can see doctors out-of-network with a PPO, but many times they refuse to bill the insurance company you have and you have to pay the entire bill first and ask for reimbursement (which is a major pain). Also you are looking at paying much bigger co-pays than if you just found a plan they were contracted with.

I exercise regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Does Medicare offer any incentives or additional benefits for preventive health behaviors?

Answer: It depends. Regular Medicare Parts A and B do not. Some Medicare Advantage plans do and it depends on the carrier. Several offer rewards like gift cards for exercise, healthy activities, preventive checkups etc. If you have an Advantage plan, you can check your plan benefits or call them to see what you need to do to report the activities and how you can collect them.

My Medicare Advantage plan denied coverage for a specialist I need to see. What are my options now?

Answer: There could be several reasons for this. You should call the carrier first and ask them why it was denied. 1. You might just need a referral from your Primary Care Doctor. 2. If its an HMO, You need to make sure that this Doctor is in-network.

What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?

Answer: You pay the same premium whether you use an experienced agent or try to do this on your own - so why not hire an expert that you don't have to pay for?

Independent Agents go through continuous training all year long. We see the carriers that have great (and poor) customer service, low rate increases (and the opposite), and we have experience with specific underwriting guidelines for each carrier. We know this industry and the ever-changing rules/compliance.

Because we work with multiple carriers, our focus isn’t on one company, it’s on you! Our job is to look out for your best interests, educate you to make informed decisions, and ensure you have the most coverage at the lowest price.
