Answer: Only if she is your power of attorney. Otherwise she can be there to help you understand and make your decision but you would have to sign for yourself.

Answer: You can just have original Medicare A and B. However, if you do not sign up for a prescription drug plan and later want to enroll you will have a penalty. Also with only A and B you have a hospital deductible and other a part b deductible as well a share of other part b services.

Answer: There are many misconceptions about Medicare. One misconception is that it is free. It isn’t free you must pay your Part B premium.

Answer: If you’re diagnosed with certain chronic conditions you have a SEP to sign up for a csnp advantage plan. Chronic conditions include renal failure, diabetes, and some chronic lung conditions.

Answer: You will always have to pay your Medicare Part B premium, which is usually deducted from your social security check. Some plans are offered with a $0 monthly premium so you wouldn’t pay an additional premium but you will pay copays for most things.

Answer: Advantage plans usually have a network as opposed to supplements. Also advantage plans have copays for just about everything.

Answer: October 15- December 7 is annual enrollment, when you can make a change to your advantage plan, prescription drug plan or go back to original Medicare. Also if you move out of your service area you have a special enrollment period

Answer: Visit Medicare .gov and enter all their prescriptions and doctors. You can also contact a local agent you find in Medicare Agent Hub.

Answer: Yes you can be denied if you’re not in a guaranteed issue time period. When you first get your part b you have a guaranteed issue time period.

Answer: After you have used the 90 days in a benefit period you have 69 reserve days to use over your lifetime. Each benefit period is only 90 days.

Answer: It should have already been mailed. At the latest you should have it by October 15. If you haven’t received it you may wish to contact your insurance plan.
