Evan was recommended to us by a former colleague, and we couldn’t be more grateful for that introduction. After returning to the United States following a seven-year stay in Germany, we found ourselves unfamiliar with the complexities of the American health insurance system. Evan was instrumental in guiding us through the process, helping us secure a plan that truly fits our needs. His expertise, patience, and clear explanations made what could have been a confusing and stressful experience feel manageable and straightforward. We especially appreciated how thoroughly he answered our questions and ensured we understood all our options before making a decision. We fully intend to return to Evan for future guidance, particularly as we approach Medicare eligibility. His deep knowledge of navigating that system gives us confidence that we will be well prepared and properly covered as our needs evolve. We highly recommend Evan to anyone seeking reliable, knowledgeable, and personalized assistance with their insurance needs.

My husband and I had an appointment with Evan. He is very knowledgable about switching us over to Medicare. The office is nice and well organized. We have since moved to Florida but since he is licsensed here, we can stay with him. Any questions we have he gets right back with us, either email or phone call. We highly recommend him!

Q&A with Evan Hountz

Answer: Hospice is defined as end-of-life care for people with illnesses that cannot be cured. Medicare Part A covers hospice. You and your family will work with a hospice care team to set up a plan of care.

Answer: Part D could certainly help you cover costs associated with a specialty drug. In some scenarios Part B may also cover this medication depending on the medication.

Answer: First steps if you do not have coverage at work is to verify if you are on social security. If you are not , you will need to login to your ssa account and begin the medicare enrollment application on your own, through an agent or social security office.

Answer: People should know that Medicare is very different for everyone. It is not a one size fits all. There are a couple moving parts depending on how you look at the coverage but it all makes sense when someone competent explains the differences.

Answer: This depends on whether or not they have credible group insurance through their employment or a spouse's employment. They also want to compare Medicare vs their group insurance to see which coverage meets their needs more on a coverage and cost basis.

Answer: Medicare covers sublaxation of the spine. Some Medicare Advantage plan may offer broader coverage but it is important to make sure your Chiropractor accepts your plan.

Answer: Each route is a good option to consider. To be clear on which is better , I like to discuss both options with my clients. It comes down to what clients truly need from there coverage.

Answer: There is no maximum limit on what you could owe under parts A and B. To make your plan more like a traditional health insurance plan, you could purchase a Medi-Gap plan or possibly a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan

Answer: Medicare Parts A and B do not cover hearing aids. Some Medicare advantage plans do cover hearing aids and may give you an allowance or a copay to help cover the cost.

Answer: Coverage of medical marijuana itself isn’t currently part of Medicare. There are ongoing policy discussions and pilot programs (including possible Medicare reimbursement for some CBD products).

Answer: Generally , Part D comes with 5 medication tiers. Each plan may tier a medication differently. The higher the tier , the more expensive the medication is priced. In many cases, once a Tier 3 is prescribed , the consumer will be responsible for a drug deductible depending on their plan's benefit.

Answer: I think adding a hospital indemnity plan can make sense depending on your core medical plans benefits. With rise in healthcare costs , these plans have become much more appealing to many consumers.

Answer: A good agent doesn’t disappear after you sign up with them. They help with:

Annual plan reviews (plans may change every year)

Billing or claim issues

Drug changes and cost increases

Switching plans when your needs change
