Eric Townsend, Medicare Insurance Broker
About Me
I began my career in the insurance industry in 1999 after graduating from Indiana University and have been fortunate to spend more than two decades helping individuals, families and businesses protect what matters most to them. My wife Kari, also an Indiana University graduate, and I were married in 2001 and first settled in Speedway Indiana. During our six years there, my appreciation for IndyCar racing grew tremendously, quickly becoming a close second to my lifelong love of IU Athletics.
In 2007, we moved to Brownsburg, Indiana, where we continue to raise our family and build lasting roots. Community involvement has always been a priority for us. Over the years, we have volunteered through our church, coached a variety of youth sports teams, and taken on leadership roles as board members and fundraiser chairpersons. These experiences have not only strengthened our community connections, but also taught us the value of teamwork, perseverance, and giving back.
We are blessed with three active children who keep our schedules full and our hearts fuller. Whether we are cheering them on at their activities, volunteering side by side, or spending time together at home, they inspire us daily to work hard, stay grounded, and strive to be the best versions of ourselves.
Q&A with Eric Townsend
I'm on Original Medicare with no supplement, and I'm wondering how much I'd pay if I need an ambulance ride to the hospital tomorrow.
Answer: Medicare Part B covers ambulance services when medically necessary, including emergency transport to a hospital/facility and, in limited cases, scheduled non-emergency transport (like for ESRD/dialysis), provided other transport risks your health. You typically pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount after your deductible, ($283)unless you have a supplemental plan.
