Don't you think Medicare will eventually be privatized completely?
Answer: That's a great question! Wish I had an answer. I do know they need to make changes to the healthcare system in our country. The costs are unsustainable for all of us.

How can I get dental and vision coverage with Medicare?
Answer: The best way is to purchase a standalone policy that offers both options. It's important to work with a broker to explore your options. The coverages vary from basic services for regular check-ups, cleanings, and X-rays to more expansive coverage that could help pay for crowns, bridges, dentures, and even implants. Most of the carriers have a waiting period in the first year for major services. So it's important to plan ahead for what you may need. Also, carriers have different networks, and in-network coverage offers the best savings.
A broker can help you find a good fit, depending on your preferred providers and the level of services you need.

My Medicare Advantage plan covers dental, but I can't find a dentist who accepts it. Is this a common problem?
Answer: Medicare Advantage plans have networks for dentists to help control costs. I recommend you contact your carrier's customer support, or visit their public website, find your plan, and pull up your evidence of coverage. Look up the dental coverage, and it should provide you with the link for the dental network. You can then find dental providers in your area that are contracted.

What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?

Is there a penalty for switching from Medicare Advantage back to Original Medicare?
Answer: The answer is No. Penalties are only applied if you did not enroll in Medicare when you became eligible or if you did not have creditable coverage through an employer when you aged in to Medicare.
However, switching from Medicare Advantage to Original Medicare is only offered during the Annual Enrollment period, October 15th - December 7th or during a Special enrollment period like a move.
