I recommend that all beneficiaries of both Original and Medicare Advantage plans take a serious look at the list of preventive testing that is covered by the plan and ask your primary care to give you a referral to all of them, and make sure to complete the testing. Answer: The general rule is at age 65, if you have worked over 10 years or 40 quarters, you will be entitled to PART A HOSPITAL, for which the premium was paid with payroll deductions, and then enrolling into PART B MEDICAL, which then will be accompanied with a monthly premium for PART B on a monthly basis, normally deducted from your Social Security check. If we are still working, we must have creditable insurance through our employer. If not true, and we do not apply for PART B During our initial period (the month of our birthday, and three months after our birthday), then we will be fined 10% for every 12 months period that we don't apply.

Answer: Yes, you must pay the Part B deductible and most likely will have to cover 20% of the total cost of your physical therapy. Due to that, Part B of Medicare normally covers 80% of total cost. (Advice) Talk to the doctor who referred you to the therapy and the provider and figure out how long the treatments will be so you can figure out a budget.

Answer: You will need to get a POA (power of attorney); it might be too late for your parents because they have to give verbal and written consent. You should look for legal help!! Normally this conversation should take place with parents that are of sound mind, and speak with siblings so that everyone is in agreement with the arrangement that you will be the person that signs off as your parent's medical and financial POA (power of attorney). With this signed document, you can then send copies authorizing Medicare and/or Medicare Advantage or Medicare supplement plan and financial institutions that you are your parents' POA. They will then add your name to your parents' accounts.
