I would highly recommend scheduling an appointment with Trish if you are getting ready to sign up for Medicare. Medicare can be so confusing, but Trish is able to explain it in terms you can understand. She also provides information on the plans that fit your medical needs. Trish is great and would not have been able to navigate Medicare without her.

Why do we have free will? What is the origin of life? What the heck is Medicare and which plan works for me/us? Three questions most of us have no answer for, but luckily David, Taylor and their team of professionals at Medical Solutions Network are around! LOL I recently attended a Medicare appointment with my in-laws and they had such a GREAT experience working with Medicare Solutions Network, they actually asked me to write a review for them. I even have notes right here with bullet points: - Taylor was incredibly patient and respectful when intially contacted via phone. Heather (the customer service rep) was also very pleasant and helpful. - David, the owner, was very knowledgable of ALL plans available. "We" liked that he didn't push specific plans like others have to us in the past. We wound up saving a pretty decent amount on our new prescription plan and every dollar counts after 65... - The options can get a little overwhelming, having so much help throughout made it a lot easier to digest. "The team at MSN made everything simple to understand and answered every question without rushing us out for his next appointment" - James "Highly recommend to anyone reading" - Mo My two cents? The whole thing was great. I don't know about you, but I didn't know the difference between a supplemental plan and a supper plan and at 38, I don't need to, but I know this has been a terrifying topic for my in-laws for quite some time and seeing them feel at ease after A. figuring out what works for them and B. the process itself NOT having to be such a slog made me happy for them and God willing, they're around in 25 years when I need the help. We'll have to figure out the meaning of life on our own, though. ***** - Service ***** - Team ***** - Owner

Q&A with David Wylly

What's the most misleading Medicare Advantage ad you've seen, and how do you explain the reality to clients?

Answer: I think my all time favorite was the Advantage plan a couple of years back that touted $20,000 in Dental. Of course most people would think that was incredible until they found out after the fact that it only covered cleanings. These ads can be pretty misleading and you need to pay very close attention. "Benefits" can be a far cry from actual dental insurance!

What are the red flags I should look for when interviewing agents? I want to make sure I'm not just getting sold to but genuinely advised.

Answer: 1 - Are they a broker or a "captive agent" only representing one company. You should be looking at everything in the market not just one carrier. That is why you want a broker in your corner.

2 - Do they also sell Auto & Home? Annuities? Life insurance? Long Term Care? Many agents are doing anything & everything and lack focus. We only do Medicare and would suggest a specialist is what you should look for in this world and not a "Jack of all Trades."

3 - Do they only want to talk about Advantage Plans? You should be looking at all of your options. Advantage Plans definitely have their place in the market but they pay double the commission of supplements. That can incentivize bad behavior and they may be looking out for their own wallet and not your best interests.

What do you like most about being a Medicare agent?

Answer: Making it easily understandable and helping people make fully informed decisions. Cutting through the advertising, propaganda, and misinformation is a passion. I enjoy lowering people's blood pressure!

I just enrolled in Medicare, and I've got my Part A and B, but I'm hearing there are gaps in coverage. What are these gaps exactly?

Answer: Medicare Parts A & B are good but by no means is it complete coverage. There are copayments to use the Hospital and Skilled Nursing under your Part A. Part B covers all of your services and has a negligible deductible. However, after that deductible Medicare only covers 80% and you are left hanging with paying the leftover 20%. Most concerning is that 20% has no stopping point and 20% of everything could be a lot!
