David Meissner, Medicare Insurance Broker

About Me

Hello! My name is David Meissner, and I have been serving the senior market in western Wisconsin since 2017. I truly enjoy meeting with people and trying to connect the Medicare dots. I realize how many unknowns exist around products advertised to seniors—and how overwhelming those options can be. My role is not to tell you what to do, rather to help you explore your options so you can make the best choice that fits your lifestyle, budget, network, etc. I genuinely believe in customer service, which is why I provide you with my cell phone number. We have all sat on hold after calling an 800 number only to get transferred to the 'correct' department, and that can be frustrating! So, please give me a call, send a text, or an email with no obligation to buy. I look forward to speaking you!

Q&A with David Meissner

I don't understand how my friend pays nothing for their plan and I pay over $200-are these plans just totally random by ZIP code?

Answer: That's a lot to unpack - could be a few different scenarios:

1. What are the type of plans we are comparing?

2. What are the zip codes we are comparing?

3. Was Medicare applied for when supposed to?

4. Was Part D applied for when supposed to?

There isn't a blanket answer for this one.

How is Medicare funded?

Answer: Through FICA taxes and with the different parts of Medicare A,B,C,D. Government investments may also play a role, but in general it's the prior.

If I have both Medicare and employer health insurance, which one pays first?

Answer: Depends on the number of employees, over 20 then employer is primary, under 20 then Medicare is primary. There are other factors that may apply but this is a main one.

What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?

Answer: There is value in local knowledge, especially when it comes to networks. And, there are no additional fees to have an agent.
