Dain was a Godsend in helping me to understand all the ins and outs of our Medicare system. I feel confident that I chose the best plan for my needs. Dain is very professional and easy to talk with and will answer any questions you have. I am so glad my sister referred me to him. I know if I have any further questions or concerns he will help me thru it. I will refer him to many of my friends.

Dain provided great service in guiding me through the Medicare signup process. He patiently answered all of my questions to make sure I received the coverage I expected. He also ensured that my wife and daughter had continuing health coverage with me being split off to Medicare. He has continued to answer our questions on dental and vision coverage to ensure our needs are met.

Dain is very professional, knowledgeable and interested in helping his clients make the best decision for their circumstances. I highly recommend his services as he is able to explain the various plans offered to Medicare eligible recipients. As most of us know, you will receive countless postcards invites to choose a plan prior to the age of 65. I found Dain easy to work with and no pressure. I look forward to working with him in the future.

Q&A with Dain Martindale

How do Social Security and Medicare work together for people with disabilities?

Answer: When you are granted SSDI (Social Security Disability Income) you will not be immediately granted Medicare. You must be on SSDI for at least 24 months before you are eligible for Medicare.

Once you are eligible, you are able to either choose a Medigap plan with your open enrollment rights or enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan.

Most individuals choose a Medicare Advantage plan because the premiums for Medigap plans under the age of 65 are often unaffordable. Costs do vary based on your state and zip code, so it's always good to check.

Will my Medicare plan work when traveling to Europe?

Answer: This is a two-fold question.

Original Medicare + Medigap works abroad with a $50,000 lifetime maximum on covered expenses. Examples of a Medigap plan include Plan F, Plan G, and Plan N.

Medicare Advantage plans MAY cover you internationally, but this varies on a plan-by-plan basis. Just because your friends' plan covers it does not mean that yours will. In order to find out if it does, you will want to reference your specific plan's summary of benefits (SOB) document.

I always recommend purchasing some level of inexpensive medical travel insurance when travelling abroad.

Aren't those Medicare seminars just sales pitches in disguise?

Answer: Are Seminars just sales pitches?

Yes and No.

Sales seminars where the agent is just discussing one particular plan is definitely a sales pitch.

But educational ones like I put on provide all the information you could need without getting into the nitty gritty of each and every plan.

Seminars are truly there to provide value and eventually earn your trust, confidence, and eventually your business.

What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?

Answer: Why work with a Medicare Agent or Broker?

Simple. We take the confusion and those late nights of researching and condense it into a concise 30 minute appointment for you.

Not only do I represent all the companies you need, I’ll also be there to provide ongoing support and service year after year.
