Craig Stout, Medicare Insurance Broker
About Me
Craig founded Professor Medicare in 2011 after a varied career as a professional actor, entrepreneur, founder of Sumitra Gift and Jewelry, corporate trainer, business and personal coach, and manager of a professional theater. It’s been a fun ride.
Since starting Professor Medicare, Craig has been thrilled and challenged as the Medicare brokerage grew. From its humble beginnings as a one-person agency, Professor Medicare now has a storefront in one of Boulder’s busiest shopping areas. Seven agents operate under the agency, and many more will come onboard.
His wife and partner for life, Donna, joined the agency in 2013 and they have worked together to create an agency that truly listens to their clients and delivers value at the highest level.
In 2020, Craig and Donna Ludington published “Professor Medicare’s Easy Guide to Medicare.” Readers enjoy how the book guides them through Medicare’s alphabet soup.
Thanks to his background in theatre, film, television, and radio, as well as his training in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Craig enjoys hearing his clients’ Medicare and health questions while catering to their specific communication style. As a Medicare broker, he must understand each client’s needs, so he can explain which coverage will best meet them.
Now, having helped thousands with their Medicare planning, Craig enjoys watching his son Aidan and others come onboard to ensure Professor Medicare will be around for all those who need a little extra help deciphering the system.

We worked with Donna for getting our Medicare set up and she was great. She answered all of our questions and helped us figure out what was best for us. I highly recommend Professor Medicare.

Aidan was extremely helpful in guiding us through this process, not only selecting a good plan but also in applying for Part B. We had some problems signing up for Part B online -- a small error in the form meant it could be submitted with the error undetected. We were given no notice that the application was actually not considered by Medicare. Aidan's advice in troubleshooting what was wrong was invaluable. He suggested that we just resubmit a correct form and we got approval in a week.
