I'm turning 65 soon, when can I enroll in Medicare?
Answer: A person can enroll into Medicare three months before their 65th birth month, during their birth month, and three months after their birth month. This period is known as the initial enrollment period.
If that person is already receiving social security income, they will be automatically enrolled three months before their 65th birth month.
If that person is not receiving social security, they will have to manually enroll themselves either by visiting their local social security office, by calling 1 (800) 772-1213 to enroll over the phone, or by submitting an application online at SSA.gov.
What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?
Answer: People should have their own personal agent because the agent will simplify the enrollment process while ensuring, year after year, all doctors and medications are covered. This is critical because it protects people from paying more than they should for health care. This will allow people to have more money in their pockets so that they can enjoy their golden years!
