Q&A with Barbara Bolden

Answer: Each person's specific Medicare needs are different. It depends on what is more important to you! So some reasons a person may pick a higher cost plan could be

1. They do not want to be restricted by networks so want a plan that would allow them to fill prescriptions nationwide.

2. They love to travel around and outside of the country and want that flexibility

Talk with your trusted Medicare agent and they can do the research for you!

Answer: It depends on the company and the specific type of plan you have. Each company have its own formulary, which is a listing of all the drugs covered. In searching for a plan, you would look at each company's formulary list and see if it is covered. Also, if it IS covered, you would want to look at how much is covered. You may be able to save by using preferred pharmacies and networks.

Answer: I would recommend, at the very least, review your plan yearly. Each year, plans change, but more importantly, your medical needs could also change. Reviewing your plan yearly would ensure you are always in the plan that's the right fit for you.

Answer: It could! As companies evaluate costs, each year they may choose to increase or decrease each plan's deductibles.

Answer: Most Medicare Advantage plans will include an annual wellness visit. This includes reviewing your medical history, risk factors, measurements such as height and weight, blook pressure and future screenings. The focus is on preventative measures and future planning!

My best recommendation is to meet with your Medicare agent annually to make sure all of your doctors and specialists are still in your network for the upcoming year. If you do not have a trusted Medicare agent, I would love to be that person!

Answer: Most Medicare Advantage plans have telehealth included in their plan. Please feel free to reach out and I can help answer your question further!

Answer: No - not all plans are "free"! There are some Medicare Advantage plans that have a monthly premium, and others are zero-premium plans. The type of plan a client chooses is based on their specific needs and preferences!

Answer: What I like most about being a Medicare agent is I get to be an advocate for my clients! Every client I meet with, I treat them as my own parents, and my goal is to make sure they get the best possible care that is the right fit for them.
