Q&A with Aubrey Prince
Answer: There are a couple ways that people can reduce medication costs while on Medicare. First being if they find their medication to be expensive, they can also ask the pharmacist to run the prescription under good rx, which in some cases is more cost effective than their Part D coverage. Another way is to apply for extra help through social security. I've had quite a few clients qualify for this due to their income. Most of my clients had no idea. The program existed, or they thought they made too much, and they still qualified so it's good to check. Give me a call today if you'd like to see if you qualify.
Answer: That's a very good question. Seniors may wait for the last minute to enroll because they have a tendency to make it into something way bigger than what it is. I have done this plenty of times in my life as well. It's something you don't understand so it becomes complicated, and you just avoid it. I help my clients understand the vital parts of Medicare, things that are important to their coverage and care. I tell them to leave the rest to me. I've had some my clients for almost a decade. I enjoy building relationships of trust and compassion with them. I can't see myself doing anything else. I believe it's our relationship that prevents them from making bad decisions They know they have a trusted advisor, so they don't fall for the random phone calls that usually end up being bait and switch. They call me and I'm always available to help them with any questions they have.
Answer: If your parent needs care at a hospital out of state they will be covered for emergency coverage if they have an advantage plan. They are covered at any hospital that accepts Medicare anywhere in the country if they have a Medicare Supplement plan, even for inpatient care.
Answer: I love working with my Medicare clients! I generally get along best with people that are older than me as I find they they have a better set of values than young people these days. The majority of my clients are loyal to the core, they call me anytime they have questions and don't get fumbled by all of the agents calling on the phone to enroll them in their plan. They value our relationship and the fact that they have an advisor they can trust that will be there for them for the long haul!
Answer: You can change your Medicare Supplement at any time unless you have a major health issue that prevents you from passing the carriers underwriting. In certain states like California you can change plans without underwriting each year around your birthday! If you'd like to check to see if you can lower your out of pocket costs, please contact me today!
Answer: Preventative screenings like bone density testing, mammograms, etc. are covered in full by Medicare. You will not acquire any out of pocket cost for preventative screenings.
Answer: Medicare Part D generally covers Repatha with a co-pay but Medicare Part B covers Repatha if it is administered in the doctor's office. Therefore you would pay a co-insurance or co-pay. If you have a Medicare Supplement and have met your part B deductible there would be no cost!
Answer: To find out if you can lower your Medicare part B cost please reach out to me. I will let you know if you qualify for savings to decrease your out of pocket!
Answer: The main benefit of part D is to help beneficiaries afford their prescriptions. You and the insurance company share the cost, therefore you don't pay full price.
Answer: No you do not but getting a quote won't harm you at all. There's a chance you can save money each month by changing to another insurance company and keep the same coverage! I could help you with that today!
Answer: You will benefit from working with a Medicare agent in many ways. You'll have a go-to person to keep you up to date on any changes that take place that affect your coverage. You have someone else looking out for your bottom-line, helping you save the most money. A Medicare agent is more than an advisor they'll become your friend, someone you look forward to catching up with. Some of my clients tell me they love me, we've known each other for years. They appreciate that I always have their best interest in mind and help them navigate the insurance world without them having to learn everything I know!
Answer: The biggest disadvantage of Medicare advantage is that some carriers take longer than others to approve procedures, etc. This can be very painstaking, especially if the beneficiary has a chronic illness.
