Q&A with Anthony Guerrero

Answer: Your best course of action is to call customer service at the number found on the back of the MA card and they can assist you. As your dedicated agent I can also assist you by searching for a local dentist that is in network online.

Answer: You can use your plan's online provider directory, call member services using the number found in the back of the card, or use Medicare's Official "Find care" tool: www.medicare.gov/care-compare. You should always check before going to an appointment, especially when seeing a new specialist or having a procedure done.

Answer: You can switch from a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan back to Original Medicare during the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15-Dec 7). Your Original Medicare coverage will start January 1.

You can also add a Part D prescription drug plan and possibly apply for a Medigap (Supplemental) plan — but Medigap acceptance isn’t guaranteed in every state.

Answer: Licensed and certified agents can help you navigate Medicare complexities, but not all agents will be compassionate and caring. Be wise in choosing your agent, and they will take care of you now and for as long as you desire.

Answer: I have lived a life of service as an educator and a military chaplain. I desire to continue serving others to help them achieve the lives, health, and financial freedom they want and deserve.

Answer: Medicare may cover medically necessary services on a cruise ship if all three of these conditions are met:

Yes, a doctor is legally authorized to provide medical services on the ship as long as the ship is registered in the United States. The ship is within U.S. territorial waters, meaning it is in a U.S. port or no more than 6 hours from a U.S. port when the services are provided.

Answer: Medicare (Original Medicare = Parts A & B) covers you anywhere within the 50 states, D.C., and U.S. territories. If you have a Medigap (Medicare Supplement) policy alongside Original Medicare, many of those plans also carry foreign travel emergency benefits. If you’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan, while the network and service‐area rules still apply, there may be some benefits for “travel” within the U.S., depending on your plan.

Answer: Yes, but we need to clarify your needs with the plans available in your area. When we are clear of the services and medications you require, we can find a plan that will give you peace of mind.

Answer: So for some, life insurance’s original purpose (protecting family income or paying off debts) may no longer be a priority, but taking care of final expenses, charitable gifts, covering estate costs, replacing lost income, or having a living benefit may offer peace of mind.

Answer: Special Needs Plans (SNPs) in Medicare Advantage consist of Chronic Condition SNP (C-SNP), Dual Eligible SNP (D-SNP), and Institutional SNP (I-SNP).

Answer: Original/traditional Medicare Parts A and B will not cover non-medical, convenience items, or “medically necessary” equipment under Medicare’s rules. Some Medicare Advantage (MA) plans may offer medical alert system coverage as a supplemental benefit.

Answer: Medicare Advantage plans work best where there is a network available to you. We would have to search the database to find what best suits you in your location.

Answer: The benefit of using my Medicare Referral number is free personal, compassionate service. The only cost to you is your time and willingness to find the answers you are looking for.

Answer: Medicare does cover certain costs if you’re enrolled in a qualified clinical trial — specifically, trials that are approved by recognized bodies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the FDA, or the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Answer: As long as the senior is employed and has medical coverage through the employer they can delay enrollment in Medicare. They can then enroll in Medicare 60 days before their final day of work.
