Andrew Norton was a tremendous help with setting up the insurance my family needed after my wife left her job (and lost her heathcare benefits) and me turning 65 - All happening at the same time! Navigating the maze of healthcare options is daunting. Andrew showed us all of the options available and we found plans that were of the same quality as our previous insurance. After identifying the best insurance plans, Andrew spent a considerable amount of time helping us get signed up for the various insurances we needed and he continued to follow up after the applications were complete to make sure there were not any glitches in the application process. Andrew.. You're the best, thank you for your assistance!

Q&A with Andrew Norton
I've heard that once you're on Medicare, you might not need life insurance as much. Is that true?
Answer: This is not the case. The need for life insurance depends on your current financial circumstances, family dynamic, and personal preferences. Medicare will cover many health events you may experience, however, it will not provide financial security to your loved ones if you pass prematurely or without adequate financial security.
What's the biggest frustration Medicare agents have when helping clients enroll?
Answer: One of the biggest themes I hear is "my friends have X plan and I'd like the same one," or "my family members told me to stay away from this plan or that company." Without question, it's important to consult others when making your Medicare decisions. However, and above all, everyone's situation and preferences are different. Knowing this, you should consider your personal factors when selecting your Medicare coverage.
I'm confused about when I can change my Medicare plan. Can you clarify the different enrollment periods for me?
Answer: It depends on the type of plan you have.
- If you are on a Medicare Advantage plan, you have two different periods to change. During the Annual Enrollment Period from October 15th- December 7th, or during the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period from January 1st - March 31st.
- If you Have a Medicare Supplement plan, you can change this anytime during the year, however it generally requires a health assessment and you may be declined based on this. Some states, however do allow for a once-per-year change without underwriting
- If you have a standalone prescription drug plan, you can change these during the annual enrollment period from Oct. 15-Dec. 7.
My plan covered my cataract surgery but not the lenses I actually needed-how do they get away with that?
Answer: Typically the cataract surgery is covered by Medicare under Part B. Unless they are deemed Medically necessary, your lenses may only be covered on a separate vision plan.
